​I’m a hand lettering and calligraphy artist based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I specialize in creating signage and seating charts, providing live on-site calligraphy for high-profile clients like Moët & Chandon and Patrón, and teaching brush pen calligraphy workshops. 

FROM THE LOVE OF LETTERS TO LEGACY KEEPER

My journey began in 2004 when I immigrated to Canada and learned English through reading and writing. I was surprised to find that cursive wasn’t a requirement in Canadian schools; instead, we relied on keyboards and printed fonts like Arial and Times New Roman for assignments. Script held little importance to me back then—until 2017, when a conversation with my father introduced me to my late grandfather’s story. A renowned calligraphy ( (書法/ thư pháp) artist in the 1960s, he supported his family of 15 by creating custom scripts for weddings and special events.
Inspired by his legacy, I founded A Grateful Note to continue his tradition of bringing beauty and meaning to life through the art of calligraphy.

TORONTO CALLIGRAPHY SERVICES

My love for calligraphy began in childhood, inspired by peers whose handwriting was displayed like artwork in school showcases. I often wondered, How did they write like that? That dream of having my handwriting admired came true in 2018 when modern calligraphy became a sought-after art form in the wedding and event industry.

To refine my craft and grow professionally, I attended entrepreneurial workshops, connected with talented calligraphers in Toronto through meet-ups, and was honored to join the TDSB Learn4Life program as a teacher for adult calligraphy lessons. In 2019, I officially launched A Grateful Note, my calligraphy brand, offering hand calligraphy services and laser-engraved calligraphy designs on acrylic and wood. When the pandemic transformed the wedding and event industry, I adapted by introducing digital offerings. I created downloadable calligraphy worksheets, enabling students and enthusiasts to practice and learn from anywhere in the world.

Today, I work with Canadian and international luxury brands to provide on-site customizations for merchandise and promotional items. Some of my clients include Patrón Tequila, Hyundai, Saje, the NBA, and more.

Outside of work, I enjoy adventurous hikes in the woods, skating at the rink, and embracing the beauty of summer and fall. I’m a proud cat lover, a wife, and a dreamer determined to make an impact with my calligraphy—one letter at a time.
